Fulton Avenue Overlay - Phase 2

Project Update

After a winter break, work will return to the Fulton Avenue Overlay Project: Arden Way to Auburn Boulevard beginning on April 30.  Crews will start with the side streets between Arden Way and Marconi Avenue.  Starting May 3, paving will begin on Fulton Avenue.  Paving Fulton between Arden Way and Marconi Avenue is expected to last through May 11.

Completed improvements include:

  • Removal and replacement of failing asphalt pavement on Fulton Avenue
  • Installation of curb, gutter, and sidewalk on Fulton Ave to provide sidewalk continuity
  • Signal modification/upgrade and new sidewalk ramps at the intersection of Fulton Avenue and Edison Avenue
  • Improved vehicle and bicycle detection with the use of detection cameras at the intersections of Fulton Ave/Arden Way, Fulton Ave/Alta Arden Expressway, Fulton Ave/Cottage Way, Fulton Ave/El Camino Ave and Fulton Ave/Marconi Ave
  • Sidewalk reconstruction at bus stops
  • Median reconstruction

Project Funding
The project is funded with revenue from Senate Bill 1 (SB 1) gas taxes, known as the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 and the Federal Regional Surface Transportation Program.
