Sunrise Boulevard Wall Replacement Project
Background
SacDOT is replacing a portion of the soundwall along southbound Sunrise Boulevard after inspections uncovered a portion of the soundwall along the road is beginning to fail. SacDOT inspectors noticed the wall was buckling and leaning toward the roadway.
SacDOT immediately addressed this issue by closing the sidewalk and vehicle travel lane next to the soundwall. SacDOT is moving forward with replacement of the soundwall this summer..
Lane Closure
June 9, 2026 to September 2026
The lane closure will be the #3 southbound lane (next to the sidewalk) on Sunrise Blvd between Wildridge Drive and Sunset Avenue. The lane closure signage will stretch north of Madison Ave into the City of Citrus Heights.
Project Work Includes
- Removal and replacement of 2 failing soundwall sections
- Sidewalk replacement
- Streetlight replacement
- Tree removal
Project Funding
The reconstruction cost is $1,392,853.75. Funding for the project is provided by County Road Fund.
