Our team is responsible for a variety of civil engineering work in connection with the review of development projects, primarily focused on construction work within County right of way. This includes encroachment permits, driveway permits, and traffic control plans.
The Sacramento County Department of Transportation Right of Way Management (ROWM) Section is responsible for managing various activities within unincorporated area roadways including the review of construction traffic control plans, enforcement of illegal encroachments (including vegetation, signs, etc.) and issuing street use permits for one to two day events. The ROWM section also monitors excavations in pavement surfaces, assists in developing and management of the oversized trucking (transportation) permits program, globally monitors construction activities within the Right of Way and coordinates these activities with the County's Construction Management and Inspection Division.
